Dr. Herman Li

Dr. Herman Li is an experienced Registered Audiologist & Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner. Dr. Li speaks fluent English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Dr. Li earned his Bachelor of Science degree (with distinction) in Linguistics from the University of Victoria, a Master’s degree in Audiology from the University of British Columbia, and a Master’s and a Doctorate in Linguistics, specializing in speech and hearing sciences, from Simon Fraser University. His research interest focuses on older adults’ abilities in understanding speech in noisy situations.

Dr. Li has many years of clinical experience working with hearing impaired patients from culturally diverse backgrounds at Surrey Memorial Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital, an Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) specialist’s clinic, and several private practice hearing clinics.

Dr. Li is committed to promoting hearing health to the general public. He was interviewed on Leisure Talk (Fairchild TV), Daily Lifestyle, Matthew Where Are You and Living Hotline (CHMB AM 1320), and Modern Deborah, (FairChild Radio AM1470) to talk about hearing, hearing loss, tinnitus, and hearing aid technology.

He has actively been participating in numerous health events such as Family Medicine Forum (organised by the College of Family Physicians of Canada), Vancouver Health Show, Health Fair (organized by Chinese Christian Mission Centre), Fourth Annual Healthy Aging Fair (organized by Burnaby Seniors’ Interagency Society), and Ming Pao Healthy Living Day.

Dr. Li has been invited to deliver hearing health related seminars at organizations such as TALK program (Third Age Learning at Kwantlen) at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Richmond campus), S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Immigrant settlement and integration program, Canadian Mental Health Association, Chinese Christian Mission Centre, Connections Community Services Society, Ming Pao Healthy Living Day, and various seniors’ community centres and residences.
